Potty Time!

Reece has been following Tyler and I into the bathroom for a few months now, however, this weekend he started trying to pee like Daddy (standing up). I was giving him a bath and he wanted to get out, so I got him out of the tub. When I started drying him off, he pushed me away, lifted the toilet cover and seat and tried to stretch his wee wee up to reach the toilet! Then, while he was in the bathroom with Tyler, he tried to pull his pants down to go potty. I guess that means Tyler is going to have to start sitting down to pee! We certainly don't need a 2-year-old with no aim trying to pee in the toilet. I hope this means potty training may happen sooner than later!

Final Parent Initiation!

I think Tyler and I got our final new parent "initiation", Reece got sick at 1 AM Friday night and we had to deal with the middle of the night bath, disinfection and bedding change and then on Saturday night, he got sick in the car! Luckily, that's the first time we've had to deal with anything more than spit up. He didn't run a fever and he played just fine, he didn't seem like he felt bad at all, he just got sick a few times. Luckily no one else in the house was sick either. I did get a few cute pictures of Reece and Tyler "recovering" the next day on the couch.

Another update, Travis and his family have moved into their new place! I'm glad we were able to help them out when they needed and I'm sure we are all glad to be settled into our own homes.

Reece has slowly been warming up to his brother and tonight he actually wanted to hold him. While I was holding Reece, we were looking at Blake (in his bassinet) and reaching for him. I sat Reece down in the recliner and put Blake in the chair with him and while Reece didn't seem quite sure what to do, he didn't try to push him away or hit him and he even kissed him!

Reece has actually been doing quite a few things lately that show us how quickly he's growing up. Yesterday, after he finished his snack of popcorn, he brought his bowl into the kitchen and put it in the sink all on his own. And today when he finished his snack, he pushed his high chair back where it belongs. He's also been imitating how Tyler stands, so now he'll stand next to something (couch, table, wall...) and lean on it and cross one ankle over the other as he's seen Tyler do. Tonight, Tyler was calling Tanner away from something and using his finger in the "come here" motion and Reece copied that as well!

Seeing how quickly my boys are growing up really makes me appreciate the time I have right now to spend with them and reminds me to try to take as much in as I can. I don't want to miss any of it!
